Recently, the water supply stop valves and check valves on the boilers in our plant have burst 3 times. What do you all think could be the cause? (The boiler is a 10-ton coal-fired, chain-type steam boiler; the water pump has a maximum head of 150 meters. Both the stop valve and check valve are rated for 16 kilograms of pressure and are installed about 300 mm away from the side of the boiler tank.)
What’s the water temperature? Have the quality issues with the exhaust valve been resolved?
If the temperature and pressure are controlled too tightly, it is necessary to carefully check the operation records.

Quality issues with valves: nowadays, most valves fail to withstand the designed pressure. For boilers with a pressure of 1.25 Mpa (with an actual steam pressure of less than 0.8 Mpa), valves connected to the boiler itself shall be those with a weight of 2.5 kilograms or more. Valves with a pressure rating of 4.0 Mpa are used for frequent opening and closing. Even so, it still leaks internally frequently. 1.6Mpa is only used in ordinary water supply pipes.
The water temperature at the supply valve is also normal, so it’s very likely that there is a problem with the quality of the valve. Nowadays, unless the valves are produced by large manufacturers, the quality of valves used in thermal power plants and other such facilities is generally unreliable
I agree; I’ve used quite a few low-pressure valves in the past, and their quality was generally poor!
The pressure at which you use the valve is too low; you can replace it with one that operates at 2.5 Mpa.
