Two types of linings have been used in waste heat boiler tubes: corundum and heat-resistant steel. The advantage of corundum is that it does not react with high-temperature gases nor get corroded; however, after one and a half years of use, an inspection during shutdown revealed that the lining had separated from the tube sheet. As for those made of heat-resistant steel, resistance increases due to reactions with high-temperature gases, and the diameter of the inspection holes becomes smaller during overhauls; however, they do not separate from the tube sheet. It is not clear whether there are any suitable lining tubes available, or if other factors are responsible for these phenomena.
We have been using corundum sleeves for almost two years now; during the recent major maintenance shutdown, I checked them and didn’t observe any of the phenomena described by the original poster. Personally, I think the speed of heating and cooling should be controlled properly, as this is beneficial for the corundum sleeve. I’m not sure if this is correct; I hope experts can give me some guidance.

Most manufacturers should use corundum tubes. If the tube comes loose, is it related to the way it was fixed during installation? Is one end of the tube inserted into the heat exchange tube, and is the other end secured as a whole using materials such as high-temperature cement? 1# Sword Pointing at the Sky
For the 4# li*n182 corundum liner, we used refractory soil to secure it, but the corundum liner broke apart on its own; in other words, one half remained inside the furnace tube while the other half became debris.
A layer of refractory fiber paper can be wrapped around the corundum sleeve before inserting it at the tube end.
