During the PTA production process, approximately 1–2% of by-products are generated. These by-products have a complex composition; generally, foreign companies dispose of them through incineration. In China, some are also incinerated, while others are utilized in various ways. The state of these by-products emitted from PTA plants varies: some are in suspension form and turn into a paste-like substance when the temperature drops, while others become nearly powder-like after treatment. Please share information regarding the composition, state, and treatment methods for the by-products produced in your own plants. The one from our company is in a paste form and is processed by a certain enterprise.
The main by-products of the PTA process are benzoic acid, p-formaldehyde, etc. There should be a clear description inside the process package!
