There is a buffer tank behind the V1401 high flash point valve, and it developed a perforation after only one month of use. The area was filled with mist, making it look very unsightly. There’s no other choice; we plan to use a 80 mm thick sheet of 16Mn steel as a replacement for the original bottom plate. Personally, I think high-silicon cast iron would be more wear-resistant, or it would be more reliable to use stainless steel welding rods or tungsten carbide welding rods to weld on a 5mm thick wear-resistant layer. Is there any that’s better and has been made before? Or raise the buffer tank by one meter and use the stored water to resist wear?
Has anyone ever worked on the buffer tank behind a corner valve?
Just placing a 50-thick wear-resistant plate is not enough. After intermittent welding, it was used for three hours before all the flange bolts vibrated loose. For now, we are only applying two layers of 316L cladding; the service life is unknown.
This is indeed difficult to resolve. How is your company dealing with it currently? Is it because there’s too much ash in the wastewater?
Raise it by 1 meter and give it another try; our factory’s structures are at least 2.5 meters high. . . . . . . . . . . .
The grinding rods that are welded on at our factory work very well; it’s possible that the height of the containers used in your factory is not sufficient
Actually, the area that wears out is right there, and no wear-resistant material helps. Our factory has used many good materials, which can last for a few months, but still leakage occurs. It’s better to stack more steel rods there; that way it can withstand wear for a longer time.
It’s done! Now we are talking about changing the bottom plate to a flange cover design. Clad with a 5mm stainless steel wear-resistant layer. Replace it after 60 to 80 days of operation and fill-weld it again.

Try using steel plates with a ceramic lining on the upper floor; many projects these days use ceramic linings, so you can give it a try to see how it performs~~~
First, reduce the ash content in the coal; second, invert the angle valves; third, weld on additional layers to the baffles; conduct regular inspections or thicken the baffles by 3–5 layers to extend their service life; finally, increase the water circulation rate. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
