There is suspicion of a leak in the heat exchange equipment; one side contains combustible gas at 6.0 MPA, while the other side has water and steam at 1.3 MPA. How can combustible gas be obtained from the side with steam?
No impact on production: The condensate is collected for gas analysis. Impact on production: Stop the steam supply and continue using gas, monitoring whether the pressure rises; be careful not to exceed the pressure limit.
The simplest method: use a combustible gas analyzer to check whether there are any combustible gases in the steam!
According to the principle of penetration, it’s not necessarily true that high pressure is required to prevent mixing between gas and steam； Sampling for analysis can be done, or the steam supply can be stopped and the system emptied to check whether any gas is escaping
