After comparing the service life of steam valves and chilled water valves in our company, we found that steam valves generally have a longer service life than chilled water valves. What is the reason for this?/
It is due to the different corrosion rates, especially for the valve body.
It’s likely that the chilled water contains chloride ions, and it is the corrosion caused by these ions that is to blame. As long as the appropriate materials are used, normal temperatures generally do not have much of an impact
Is it frozen saline? In such an environment, the service life of valves will be shortened, relatively speaking
It might be that the valve material used for your chilled water is not appropriate.
