What are the principles for designing the internal and external gas collection chambers in catalytic cracking?

While reading the process package for the new unit today, I have a question: The gas collection chambers in the settler and regenerator come in inner and outer types – what is the principle behind this design? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the internal and external gas collection chambers? Please, fellow sailors, discuss it!
At higher temperatures, the strength of the internal gas collection chamber is insufficient. But there is no fundamental difference. I have seen cases where both regeneration and reaction take place in either the internal or external gas collection chamber. Sometimes, by modifying the interior and exterior, more space can be created by installing additional spinners.
