Our company has an emergency treatment tank filled with liquid alkali in the area where liquid chlorine cylinders are stored. When there is a problem with the cylinders, workers wear protective clothing and air respirators before lifting the cylinders into the emergency treatment tank. I’ve also heard that the storage area can be completely sealed, and in case of an issue, fans are used to draw the leaked chlorine gas into the liquid alkali emergency treatment tank

By adhering to these guidelines, intrinsic safety can be achieved. While this approach may seem rigid and dogmatic, it is essential to emphasize the need to identify those who are the smartest yet also the most unstable in each stage, to enhance their sense of responsibility, and to maintain a high level of vigilance. To achieve this, management bears the undeniable primary responsibility. There is a saying by Haier’s Zhang Ruimin that can be applied here: “If managers sit down, those who are managed will lie down.” Therefore, from the top management of the company, through the sales and logistics departments, down to the workshop teams, no single level can shirk its responsibilities. Wasting time putting on chemical protective gear at that moment would result in missing the optimal opportunity.
