I have a small hydrogenation unit with a design pressure of 6.0 Mpa; the pressure at the pump inlet is 0.4 Mpa. The feed flow rate is 1.0–1.5 m3/h, and the temperature is 150 degrees. The properties of the material are similar to those of ordinary lubricating oils, with a density of 0.88. I would like to know what other types of pumps might be suitable for such a low flow rate, aside from high-pressure reciprocating pumps. Are there any examples that can be used as a reference?
In addition to reciprocating pumps, metering pumps can also be used. For both types of pumps, a temperature of 150 degrees represents a challenge; reciprocating pumps are prone to problems at such high temperatures, and the crankcase needs to be cooled. Metering pumps can use metal diaphragms. Metering pumps are cheaper than reciprocating pumps.

Can’t it be solved with a centrifugal pump + return line?
Multi-stage centrifugal pumps could also be considered

Hydraulic diaphragm metering pumps are still the safer choice; other types of pumps are likely only conceptual and not yet mature enough.
Class 2 pressure centrifugal pump! The outlet pressure of the feed pump for the hydrogenation reactor in our unit is 8.0 MPa; a two-stage high-speed centrifugal pump is used for this purpose. However, the fluid is already pressurized by another centrifugal pump before it reaches the high-speed pump. I believe that the two-stage high-speed centrifugal pump should be sufficient to meet your requirements
It would be better to use a rotary jet pump to solve it
You can give it a try by using a rotary jet pump, which features low flow rate but high head pressure, and can operate stably across the entire flow range.
