In China, most manufacturers of cresol operate on a small scale, use outdated manufacturing processes, and produce products of poor quality; as a result, neither the quality nor the quantity of their output meets the requirements of the domestic market. M-cresol can be used in the production of drugs, disinfectants, plastic additives, and fragrances. The main product of coal tar processing in our country, mixed xylene, is exported to Japan.
