Can online analysis and manual analysis accurately determine the operating temperature of the gasification furnace? What if, under the condition that the operating temperature of the gasifier and other operational parameters remain stable, the analyzed data show significant differences? Have you ever questioned the relationship between methane and carbon dioxide? Has it happened that the reaction in the gasifier proceeds well, but the synthesis gas is not evenly mixed, resulting in large variations in the analyzed data?
Starting with the first question, many posts on the forum discuss the factors that affect gas analysis components; therefore, it is incorrect to determine temperature based on manual analysis or online analysis. In fact, methane is particularly sensitive, while carbon dioxide is less sensitive. Once again, it comes down to the issue of gas composition, which is closely related to the flow pattern inside the furnace. Personally, I don’t think the uneven mixing phenomenon mentioned by the original poster will occur. It’s just my personal opinion; please feel free to criticize it!
The temperature of the gasifier is measured online; what does manual measurement mean? Is temperature the medium inside the furnace, to be taken out and analyzed in the laboratory? It’s not all cold yet. The components within the reaction reactor are influenced by various factors, such as operating conditions, raw material ratios, reaction time, impurity content, and the accuracy of analysis. The composition under the same conditions should be similar. The composition will certainly differ under different conditions; this is normal and inevitable.
There are many factors that affect the composition of gases, and in industrial production, these parameters fluctuate. In my opinion, it is not advisable to try to determine temperature based on the gas composition
There is definitely a difference; the two analysis methods are not the same. Online analysis involves either mass spectrometry or infrared spectroscopy, while manual analysis typically makes use of gas chromatography.
