For calculating the desulfurization tower that uses dry iron oxide desulfurization, with an inlet concentration of 100 mg/Nm3 and a gas flow rate of 29,000, the calculated amount of desulfurizing agent required is 156 m3. However, the desulfurizing agent requires an empty-tower velocity of 0.1–0.3 m/s and a height-to-diameter ratio greater than 3. But when trying to maintain the adsorption capacity, if the empty-tower velocity is kept at 0.1–0.3 m/s, the height-to-diameter ratio becomes less than 3. If the height-to-diameter ratio is to be maintained first, it becomes impossible to ensure the desired empty-tower velocity. I would appreciate some guidance on how to make the necessary adjustments. You are using crude iron oxide desulfurization, right? After sulfur is removed using iron oxide, the hydrogen sulfide content is around 3 ppm. If the hydrogen sulfide level is to be kept below 1 ppm, a zinc oxide desulfurizer is required. The amount of desulfurizer to be used is calculated based on the sulfur capacity and the replacement interval. If this amount differs from that calculated using a gas flow rate of 0.1–0.3 m/s and a height-to-diameter ratio of 2–3, it is possible to adjust the desulfurizer replacement interval; however, it is necessary to consult the manufacturer regarding the appropriate gas flow rate for using the desulfurizer, ensuring that it remains within the specified range.
