What are the common faults of ordinary chrome plating? What is the reason? How to solve it?
1. Insufficient coating brightness due to low temperature; The current density is too high ; Low sulfuric acid content in the plating solution ; The chromium III content in the plating solution is high ; There are iron impurities; treat with ion exchange resin. 2. Poor deep plating capability: Lead chromate is formed on the anode surface, resulting in poor electrical conductivity; the anode must be cleaned with a wire brush ; High temperature of the plating solution ; Low cathode current density ; The sulfuric acid content is too high or too low ; The chromium acid content is too low ; Too much trivalent chromium ; High levels of iron and chlorine impurities; these are treated using ion exchange resins and electrolytic treatment respectively. 3. Coating peeling due to poor pre-treatment ; The internal stress in the nickel plating layer is too high; treat the nickel plating solution with activated carbon ; The performance of the intermediate coating is poor. 4. Black spots appear on the surface of the copper-tin alloy after chromium plating; the temperature of the chromium plating solution is too low ; Poor activation treatment before chromium plating ; Power on too quickly or too slowly ; High tin content in copper-tin alloy; 5. Chromium cannot be deposited in certain areas due to improper mounting or poor electrical conductivity ; The part has a complex shape, so an auxiliary anode can be used ; The hanger has poor insulation; insulating paint can be applied ; Poor pre-plating treatment; presence of oil or oxides ; The current density is too low ; The plated parts cover each other; 6. The coating burns due to too low a temperature ; The current density is too high ; Sulfate content is less than 7; the concave surface of the coating is colored yellow due to insufficient sulfate ; Low current density or no current flow. 8. The coating appears hazy and mottled; if the underlying nickel layer is hazy, the nickel layer should be checked ; Temperature is too high; 9. The coating appears rainbow-colored due to an improper combination of temperature and current density ; The temperature is too high ; The current density is too low when inserting into the tank; 10. There are obvious cracks in the coating; the temperature of the plating solution is too low ; The sulfuric acid content is too high ; The current density is too high ; Poor pre-treatment
