The question is as stated in the title: dear friends and experts, how is the design pressure for external pressure vessels determined? I work in the oil processing industry, and the patent holder provided a data sheet for the distillation column equipment, specifying full vacuum at normal temperature. While the other tower provides a semi-vacuum at 260°C. I’m curious how these figures are determined! Thank you! ! !
Use a vacuum pump to reduce the pressure inside the device; if the external pressure is greater than the internal pressure, then it’s essentially a device under external pressure
