For the piston ring and the working surface of the cylinder, inspection is carried out using the light-transmission method; there should be no more than two areas along the entire circumference where light leaks through. What does the so-called light-transmission method inspection refer to here?
The light transmission method is primarily used to check whether the cylinder or piston rings fit together properly and form a seal. The piston rings are placed in the cylinder under operating conditions, and a flashlight is used to examine whether the roundness of the cylinder or piston rings exceeds the acceptable limits.
