One of the chemical plants I work at has several distillation towers, and the top condensers of two of these towers experience noticeable vibration. It seems that this vibration comes from the circulating water, as the vibration in the circulating water circuit is the most pronounced, accompanied by a \"dinging\" sound. The operator over there said that it was because of the gases present, so they opened a drain in the circulating water circuit and allowed water to flow through it for some time. At that time, I noticed significant fluctuations in the backflow pressure; even after closing the drain, those vibrations continued, but they were much less severe. Is it possible that such severe vibration is caused by gas present in the return pipe? Thank you all ^_^
The circulating water is quite dirty; check whether the debris in the water has blocked some of the heat exchange tubes. Additionally, a leak in the partition plates inside the heat exchanger tubes could also be the cause
