If the liquid sulfur tank is to be shut down and no special actions are required (such as fixing leaks or damaged linings), it is sufficient to use a liquid sulfur pump to empty the liquid sulfur from the tank. Since there may still be a small amount of liquid sulfur at the bottom of the liquid sulfur tank, no action is required if work is not carried out on that area. During shutdown, simply stop the steam in the heating coil, and the liquid sulfur will solidify. But since water leakage was found at the bottom and it needed to be addressed, this sulfur had to be removed manually.
After completing what the brother upstairs mentioned, if work involving open flames is to be carried out near the liquid sulfur tank, fireproof fabric or sand should be used to seal the tank in order to prevent fires from breaking out.
What the people upstairs said makes a lot of sense. The person on the second floor mentioned that it’s not necessary to remove the liquid sulfur at lower levels; but could there be any negative effects when operations resume after the steam is turned off and everything solidifies? Also, if welding is to be carried out, does the sulfur seal need to be treated as well? Push all the sulfur-sealed liquid sulfur into the liquid sulfur tank?
