I would like to ask about the operating temperature of the selective oxidation reactor in the Ultra-Claus process, and I’m also confused as to why not all of the previous Claus converters are converted to selective oxidation reactors What is the reason?
Because each reactor has an optimal acid gas concentration suitable for that process; too high or too low a concentration will lead to different problems. So, the skills of foreigners are really not something to joke about: lol
In the ultra-high-efficiency Claus process, the inlet temperature of the oxidation reactor is typically set around 210–220°C. The ultra-high efficiency Claus process requires specific conditions regarding the H2S concentration in the inlet process gas for the oxidation reactor; otherwise, excessive reaction temperature rise can lead to overheating of the catalyst bed and the generation of large amounts of SO2.
Each stage of the reactor has certain process parameter requirements, such as temperature and hydrogen sulfide concentration.
What was said on the 3rd floor is correct; for super Claus reactors, the hydrogen sulfide content at the inlet should be between 0.7% and 1.0%. If the hydrogen sulfide level is too high, the reaction heat becomes excessive, which can destroy the catalyst.
