Generally, the calculation of reaction heat is based on the standard enthalpies of formation of various substances at 298.15 K, which corresponds to 25 degrees Celsius. Therefore, the standard reaction heat value given also represents the heat change at 25 degrees Celsius. The difference between this value and the actual amount of heat released is what is used to heat the material.
