How often does one need to go to the manufacturer to replace the platinum-rhodium mesh?

There are basically three companies in the domestic market. The one mentioned on the 4th floor is CNOOC Taiyuan Precious Metals Supply Company (abbreviated as the Supply Station); Taiyuan Huagui Precious Metals Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as Huagui, which is part of Taiyuan Chemical Group); and Hollys Shanghai (a subsidiary of German company Hali Corporation ). Their respective market shares are approximately 50%, 15%, and 35%. Kun Gui in Kunming seems to still be supplying Yuntianhua. Internationally, J&M (Johnson Matthey), heraeus, and Umicore hold market shares of approximately 45%, 45%, and 10%, respectively.

Generally, it is about six months. Of course, you can continue to use it, but the downside is a reduced ammonia oxidation rate, increased consumption, and higher platinum usage, which makes it uneconomical.

The active components of platinum mesh are platinum, rhodium, and palladium; rhodium has the strongest catalytic activity, followed by rhodium and palladium. If platinum is lost, it cannot exert its catalytic function; the loss of rhodium and palladium has little impact on the overall activity of the platinum mesh. Retaining platinum through palladium substitution extends the service life of the platinum mesh. Although everyone does this, with ordinary palladium wires, after platinum is captured it ends up inside the wires, making it difficult for gases to diffuse to the center of these wires. However, with specially designed palladium wires, platinum is displaced and remains on the surface of the wires where it can continue to act as a catalyst, thereby extending the lifespan of the platinum mesh.
Currently, it is usually half a year; as time goes on, consumption increases.
