Based on the initial net ammonia value, this extra ton of ammonia represents the energy savings achieved.
You can start by calculating how much less circulation air volume is required and how much energy is saved when the ammonia net value increases by 1%. Of course, this is just an estimate, as the system pressure also decreases when the amount of circulating gas is reduced, and it’s difficult to determine this value accurately.

Here’s a suggestion: it can be calculated in two parts: 1. Increase the net ammonia value; with a constant amount of fresh gas, the system pressure will inevitably drop. By using the pressure difference between the upstream and downstream systems, it is possible to determine how much less energy the compressor needs to consume. 2. Increase the ammonia net value; given a fixed tower design and process flow, as well as a constant outlet ammonia concentration, the ammonia net value can be improved by further reducing the inlet ammonia concentration, which is achieved by lowering the ammonia cooling temperature. It is possible to calculate the ammonia cooling temperature at which it drops to the desired net ammonia level, as well as the increased ammonia cooling load, thereby determining the additional load on the compressor. By comparing the results of the previous two steps, adjustments are made to bring the system to its most economical state.
