Questions about thermocouples

Hello everyone, I have a question: if a thermocouple uses a non-metallic protective sleeve such as ceramic, is it still necessary to use an insulating material? Additionally, for metal protective sleeves, the insulating materials include MgO, Al2O3, and ceramics. I’m not sure when each of these is used; I hope experts can provide some guidance. Thank you.
I haven’t encountered this problem. Generally, the thermocouples inside the casing are supported by ceramic beads, which isolate them from the casing; armored thermocouples as well are sealed with insulating materials. If using a nude doll, the aforementioned materials may be required. Therefore, when selecting a thermocouple, it is necessary to specify the temperature range for measurement to the manufacturer, as the insulating material used between the sheath and the thermocouple may vary depending on this range.
These days, armored thermocouples are generally used; the insulating material is determined by the manufacturer, and no insulating material is required between the sheath and the thermocouple.
