Synonymous names: Dicyclopentadiene. CAS No.: 77-73-6. Molecular formula: C10H12. Molecular weight: 132.204. Properties: Colorless crystals with a camphor-like odor. Relative density 0.979 (20/20°C). Boiling point 170°C (decomposition). Freezing point: 31.5°C. Refractive index nD(35℃) 1.5061. Flash point 32.22°C. Autoignition temperature: 680°C. Soluble in alcohol. This product has two isomers, α and β; the freezing point of the α isomer is 33°C, while that of the β isomer is 19.5°C. Bicyclopentadiene mainly contains the α isomer, with a boiling point of 170°C. Due to the presence of double bonds, this product is prone to addition reactions and self-polymerization reactions. Use: Mainly used in the pharmaceutical industry. Toxicity: This product is toxic, possessing paralytic and local irritant effects; acute poisoning can cause coma. large
