What to do if the valve designed for chlorine gas won’t open?

As a result, when they are tried to be used again after two or three months, they cannot be opened no matter what. Some of these valves are from Sanming, Fujian; some have bellows mechanisms, such as certain balance valves and exhaust valves. Valves that come into contact with liquid chlorine have also experienced this issue. I would like to ask the experts here: what is the cause of this, how can it be avoided, and how should it be dealt with? Thank you. # + + .
Our factory also faces this issue; the main solution is to use dual-valve control and alternate between them from time to time, which proves to be effective.
1. Replace the valve again； 2. Heat the valve with steam; it is possible that impurities are blocking the valve screw or valve core.
In many of our unit’s liquid chemical processing operations, dual valves are used. Moreover, when installing new valves, it is necessary to activate them properly and apply lubricant as well.
We use special chlorine valves from Mingjiang in Fujian, and the quality seems to be very good
Heating with steam might help to open it; we use dual valves for control and apply plenty of lubricant to prevent rusting, operating them alternately from time to time!

All of these valves can be switched on and off; don’t treat valves that are designed to remain open or closed as ones that cannot be switched at all, as that would render them useless for switching purposes. It’s necessary to operate them regularly. We have established procedures for this purpose, and they must be followed thoroughly.
Among the domestically produced valves designed for chlorine, Zibo Taifeng, Sichuan Gutai, and Jiangsu Mingjiang all seem to be of good quality. We all use them.
Heating it with steam or similar might be because something is frozen inside

You can only try heating it with steam; you might want to loosen the packing gland a bit and give it another try
