What are the capacities of the largest ethylene plants at home and abroad? What is the maximum production capacity of a single pyrolyzer?
1: In terms of production scale, the largest is the Joffre Ethylene Plant of Novachem in Canada, with a production capacity of 2.8 million tons. Next is the Jubail Ethylene Plant of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation, with a production capacity of 2.25 million tons. 2: The largest scale for a single unit is 1.5 million tons in the Middle East. 3: The production capacity of a single pyrolysis furnace is up to 150,000–200,000 tons, and it can also be designed to have an even higher capacity. The largest ethylene production facility in China seems to be Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical, with a capacity of 1.1 million tons per year; there are also several ethylene projects with capacities of several million tons each that have already been put into operation or are about to be launched
The largest scale of ethylene production facilities both domestically and internationally is as follows: 1. The world-class scale of cracking units that use naphtha as raw material is 1.1 million tons per year; 2. The world-scale capacity of cracking units using ethane as raw material is 1.35 million tons per year ; 3. Saudi Arabia is building a super-large ethylene plant with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tons. 4. The largest ethylene plant in China is the Dushanzi 1 million tons/year ethylene plant. The maximum production capacity of individual cracking units both domestically and internationally is as follows: 1) The SW 175,000 tons/year liquid furnace and 215,000 tons/year gas furnace are already in operation, while the designed capacity of their ethane cracking units is 350,000 tons/year. 2. The SRT-X type furnace developed by Lummus has a production capacity of 230,000 to 280,000 tons per year. 3. Linde’s 150,000 tons per year liquid furnace has been put into operation in Dushanbe; it is the largest cracking furnace in operation in China, with a designed ethane cracking capacity of 249,000 tons per year. 4. The 192,000-ton/year liquid cracking furnace at Sinopec Yangzi/BASF, which is under construction, is currently the cracking furnace with the largest production capacity among those under construction in China.
