Do the number of row tubes passing through the center line of the tube bundle and the number of central row tubes mean the same thing?

Does the number of center row tubes refer to the number of tubes in the innermost ring or the number of tubes on the shell diameter? Or does it mean something else? :dizzy:
In the process calculation of shell and tube heat exchangers, this number should be used to calculate the heat transfer coefficient and resistance drop between tubes. It refers to the maximum number of heat exchange tubes at or near the center line of the tube bundle (when there are divisions) through which the fluid flows crosswise. In order to achieve good heat transfer effect, the flow area here should be equal to the flow area of the circular gap of the baffle (after deducting the heat exchange tubes).
It refers to the maximum number of tubes that can be arranged near the center of the tube bundle, and is related to the direction of fluid flow. It is also an important parameter in heat exchanger process calculation.
It should be added that this quantity is best read from the drawing.
