The foundations of the sulfuric acid pumps in our factory are severely corroded. Using acid-resistant cement to construct acid-resistant bricks doesn’t work very well either, as those bricks fall apart after a short time. Do anyone have any good suggestions?
The foundation of the sulfuric acid pump is severely corroded; is that due to sulfuric acid leakage? The sulfuric acid pumps in our factory have no leaks, let alone corroded foundations! Therefore, to solve the corrosion problem, it’s not about using materials that prevent corrosion, but rather about strictly preventing sulfuric acid from leaking, thereby addressing the issue at its root!
Epoxy putty can be used to protect acid-resistant tiles, but it is essential to thoroughly clean the pump during maintenance, and any minor leaks should be washed away immediately with water.
This issue needs to be considered from two aspects: 1. The floor should be treated with acid-resistant cement, while the pump base can be made of carbon steel. 2. During maintenance, any minor acid leaks must be dealt with promptly; they cannot be ignored. Over time, no material will be able to withstand such conditions.
