During the design process, a problem arose: behind the intermediate storage tank, there is usually a pump that sends the material to the next processing stage, with a small portion of it returning to this tank. What is the purpose of this? Additionally, there is a diameter reduction fitting on the return pipe – what is the advantage of that?

You can decide how to use this line; it can serve as a return line between the container and the pump during water transportation, or it can be used to adjust the amount of material pumped out. The change in diameter is mainly intended to reduce the pipe size; there is no special meaning to it.

Thank you for the answer from above. Could you tell me something about the valve selection for this recycled material? Is it a globe valve or a stop valve? I think it’s probably a globe valve.
5# gjgcs has already been changed in diameter; ball valves and gate valves are both suitable, with globe valves being used only if regulation is required.
First question: Some return pipelines are designed to prevent material from settling, or to avoid phenomena such as polymerization that can occur due to a lack of flow over a certain period of time; Second question: The change in diameter at the pump inlet and outlet is intended to ensure that the material fills the pipeline, thereby preventing cavitation when the material enters the pump ; Another consideration is whether using larger pipes is a waste; if a DN25 pipe is sufficient, there’s no need to use a DN50 one, which saves money!
