Why aren’t there any Chinese companies?

Too old…. Akzo Nobel no longer exists, and Degussa is now part of Evonic.

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), commonly referred to as PetroChina, is a comprehensive energy company that engages in oil and gas exploration and development, refining and petrochemical production, oil product sales, oil and gas storage and transportation, petroleum trading, engineering technology services, and the manufacturing of petroleum equipment. After China National Petroleum acquired its parent company’s overseas oil and gas assets in 2005, oil and gas reserves and production levels increased significantly, along with rises in domestic natural gas production, which led to an improvement in its ranking; it moved up 2 places compared to the previous year. 6. British Petroleum (BP): Founded in 1909 by William Knox Darcy, it was originally named Anglo Persian Oil Company. In 1954 it was renamed British Petroleum. In 1998 it merged with Amoco, and in 2000 it acquired Arco. Its headquarters are located in London, UK. BP is currently the fourth-largest integrated multinational oil company in the world, with operations in over 100 countries and regions around the globe. Its activities cover three main areas: oil and gas exploration and production, refining and marketing, and petrochemicals; it is also involved in other sectors such as finance and solar energy. 7. Royal Dutch/Shell Group: Established in 1907, it was formed in order to compete with the largest oil company at that time, Standard Oil of the United States. In 1907, Royal Dutch Petroleum merged with Shell Transport and Trading Company of the UK; Royal Dutch Petroleum held 60% of the shares, while Shell Transport and Trading Company held 40%. Shell is one of the so-called Seven Sisters and remains a key competitor in the fields of oil, energy, chemicals, and solar energy to this day. Shell has five core businesses, including exploration and production, gas and power, gasification, chemicals, and renewable energy. Shell has subsidiaries or operations in over 140 countries and regions around the world. 8. ConocoPhillips of the United States: (also known as Continental Phillips Company) ConocoPhillips was formed on August 30, 2002, through the merger of Conoco Corporation and Phillips Petroleum Company; its headquarters are located in Houston, Texas, United States. The newly merged company inherits the more than 200 years of rich experience in the energy sector and the advanced technologies in the oil industry possessed by the two original companies, making it one of the outstanding companies in the world today. ConocoPhillips is primarily engaged in the exploration, production, processing, and marketing of oil and gas, as well as the production and sale of chemical and plastic products. 9. Chevron Corporation: The second-largest oil company in the United States. In October 2001, Chevron acquired one of its main competitors, Texaco, for $39 billion, and adopted the name Chevron Texaco for its company; its headquarters are located in the United States. On May 9, 2005, Chevron Texaco announced that it would be renamed \"Chevron Corporation\". The company’s operations span 180 countries and regions around the world, making it one of the most competitive global energy companies today.
