I work in the coking industry, and I’m not very familiar with coal blending. I would like to ask those who are more experienced: what criteria are used to determine the coal blending plan?
1. Consider the quality requirements for coke. 2. Generally, highly caking bituminous coal and coking coal are used as the main components, with an appropriate proportion of 1/3 coking coal, lean coal, weakly lean coal, gas coal, and other coaling materials added. 3. Coal blending is carried out based on the parameters of various coal types supplied to the plant. 4. The ash content, sulfur content, bonding index G value, and maximum thickness Y value of the blending coal can be calculated in an additive manner using a single type of coal, while the volatile matter content can be approximated using an additive approach as well. 5. The ash content of the blending coal should be controlled between 9 and 10, the sulfur content between 0.75 and 0.85, the volatile matter content between 24 and 32, the G value between 55 and 70, and the Y value between 13 and 16. 6. Consider the cost of coal fed into the furnace, provided that the quality of coke is not affected.
