What is the purpose of installing a safety valve at the outlet of a conventional circulating water heat exchanger? ? ?
Some don’t add it either; it’s probably related to the cooling medium. If it is added, it’s likely to prevent thermal expansion of the circulating water in a sealed environment

Someone mentioned this in the lecture given by that expert teacher; it takes extreme situations into account. In the event that the circulating water valve is closed and the temperature of the heating medium is high, the circulating water may expand due to heat, which would result in much higher pressure. Therefore, a safety valve is necessary. It seems that in foreign designs, safety valves are installed at the outlets of the cooling circulating water in heat exchangers, while in China it depends on the specific situation – generally, no such valves seem to be used. I have encountered many cases where safety valves are installed at the process side inlet of circulating water coolers; however, I have never seen safety valves installed at the outlet of circulating water.
The temperature of the heat medium is likely to exceed 100 degrees; this prevents steam from being generated due to a disruption in the circulation of water, and there is a place where any excess pressure from the steam can be released.
