There is a lot of foam in the desulfurization tower in our workshop. Why?
There are many reasons, which can be eliminated slowly: 1. Too much entrained impurities such as coke powder, etc. can be strengthened. 2. Degradation of amine liquid. 3. The circulation volume is too large. Reduce the circulation volume appropriately. 4. The concentration of amine liquid is high. Reduce the concentration appropriately.
The main reason is that there are many hydrocarbon substances, which can easily lead to foaming.
Can the author check whether the exhaust gas from the quenching tower contains any dirt? Generally speaking, the causes of foaming are those mentioned on the second floor. I just don’t know what the impact of circulation volume is on this? Can you please give me an answer on the second floor?

It is related to the heat stable salt of the degradation product of the amine liquid. 4. It is related to the load of the desulfurization tower.

The reason for foaming: 1) Because the system is not purged cleanly, there are a large number of dispersed fine solid suspensions such as corrosion products and mechanical impurities in the amine liquid. ; (2) There is oil or dissolved hydrocarbons in the amine liquid ; (3) Due to long-term high temperature control of the reboiler of the regeneration tower, the degradation products in the amine liquid increased. Direct consequences: (1) It seriously affects the absorption effect of H2S, causing the sulfur compounds in the purified tail gas and flue gas to exceed the standard, and ultimately leading to a significant decrease in treatment capacity until the work is shut down. ; (2) Cause a large amount of amine liquid to be lost. Treatment method: (1) Use filtration or sedimentation methods to continuously remove mechanical impurities in the solution ; (2) Use a regeneration system to continuously remove amine degradation products in the solution ; (3) Ensure smooth operation of the regeneration tower and improve the quality of lean liquid.
