Why is the total solid content low in saturated hot water towers, and why can’t it be increased?

The total solid content in our company’s saturated hot water tower is low, below 200 mg/L. I’m not sure why it can’t be increased. We carry out replacement and backwashing of the saturated tower, as well as using blind flanges; yet even after 5 or 6 days without such procedures, it’s difficult to raise the solid content level. Could it be that the analysis method is incorrect? We have been using gravimetric analysis, with the following steps: 1. After drying the crucible, weigh it to obtain the weight M1 ； 2. Take a sample of water from the saturated tower and measure V ； 3. After adding the measured volume of saturated tower water sample to the crucible, it is dried in an oven, and then its weight M2 is measured ； 4. Calculation: (M2-M1)/V.
A low total solids level is a good thing; if it remains low for an extended period, there might be an issue with your analysis.
