Why is the quenching water dark green in color? It’s pretty much the same as black. Replacement doesn’t have much effect either. Does anyone with experience in this area have anything to share? Thank you. .

By checking the turbidity of the water, if it becomes turbid, sulfur must have been produced inside the quench tower.
There is a large amount of sulfur dioxide inside the quench tower; when it comes into contact with the quench water, acidic water is formed, which gives the water a darker color. Check the operating conditions of the hydrogenation reactors in the front section. I’m not aware of your exhaust gas treatment process; if there are absorption towers, then check the solvent flow process (series solvent use?). lol
