On April 29, 2010, in Changsha, Hunan, Changsha UESOFT Software Development Co., Ltd. announced that it would make available the full source code of the latest version of AutoPDMS 8.0, to facilitate further development by other developers. AutoPDMS 8.0, the next-generation 3D factory collaborative design management system developed by Changsha UESOFT Software Development Co., Ltd., provides factory designers with a unified CAD design environment. The operation mode of AutoPDMS is similar to that of AVEVA PDMS; it includes a design library (Piping, Equipment, HVAC, H&S, Steel), a component library and grade library (Paragon & Specon), isometric views (i.e., pipe segment diagrams, aerial views) Isodraft, projected views (plan and sectional views) DRAFT, interfaces for stress analysis and fluid analysis, model conversion (exporting PDMS models to AutoPDMS), administrative functions for permission management, and support for multi-user collaborative design. Since its first release in October 2007, the software has been downloaded 32,649 times to date. To facilitate further development, UESOFT provides the complete source code for AutoPDMS8.0 on its company website, along with a brief guide that outlines the steps for using this source code for further development. Developers can also get help from UESOFT’s technical staff if they encounter problems after downloading.
