The sludge line of the heavy oil pump used in coking processes is often blocked, and it cannot be cleared even with steam, which causes a range of problems when maintaining the pump. Is there any effective solution?
Our equipment also gets clogged frequently, especially the oil return line of the slurry pump. Later, a row of drain valves was added after the manual valve on that return line; after each oil removal process by the pump, a rubber hose was used to connect to the drain valves in order to purge the return line, until steam was observed at the drain point of the wall valve leading into the heavy residue tank in the tank farm, at which point the process was stopped.
