Height issue in graduate theses

My graduate thesis was on an engineering topic, focusing on the application of DCS and ESD systems in LNG projects. Now, those theorists in the faculty claim that the depth of my research isn’t sufficient, and they want me to give a public defense and rewrite the thesis. It’s really frustrating – is it enough to rely solely on theoretical concepts and algorithms? Can it solve real-world problems?
If I can’t graduate because of this, I’ll lose the job I’ve worked so hard to get:@

Insert a chapter to explain the theory separately; isn’t it easy enough with scissors and glue? Citing a few more foreign journals that haven’t been verified is enough to reach that level. :lol
The people upstairs are really experts; that’s exactly what our supervisor requires. There isn’t much theory related to ESD that can be discussed. Our supervisor asked me to analyze reliability, but how am I supposed to do that?
Yeah, we just insert whatever theories can be inserted; universities these days are full of idiots
I could have written a proper thesis, but since the school required over 40,000 words, I wrote a lot of nonsense； Because of the plagiarism detection system, it’s been messed up so badly (I don’t even dare to use the standards directly) ； Now, with this situation, I have to add all these complicated theories again – I give up!
