I would like to ask everyone: if the tail gas flow in chromatography is increased too much, does it have any impact on the instrument and the chromatography column?
An increase in tail gas flow has no effect on the instrument and the chromatography column, but it does have a certain impact on the detector. If the tail gas flow is increased too much, it will dilute the concentration of the components being detected, resulting in a decrease in sensitivity. It will also increase gas consumption and exhaust volume.
As the micro-blow increases, sensitivity decreases, and the chromatographic peaks become less distinct; if the tail-blow is too large, it becomes difficult to detect the flame. Hehe
It has no effect on the chromatography column, but it affects the detector: an increase in the backflow gas reduces the detector’s sensitivity, and if the amount of backflow gas is too high, the FID will not ignite
