I have just switched from the sulfuric acid industry to the phthalic anhydride industry over a month ago, and it seems that there isn’t much information available online about this industry. I would like to ask the experts here one question first: what effects does moving the hot spot in the reactor forward or backward have on the reaction? Personally, I think moving it forward should result in a better response; could moving it backward lead to an insufficient response? If hotspots no longer require a location, is it adjusted through salinity and temperature? Another approach is to control the hot spot by adjusting the salt temperature; in practice, however, the salt temperature is monitored based on the composition of the gas exiting the reactor. Is there any relationship between this gas composition and the temperature of the hot spot? And since the hot spot temperature is related to the salt temperature, how can these factors be adjusted? The most important thing to remember is that all process parameters are designed to serve product quality and yield. Adjusting the hotspot position and hotspot temperature are both aimed at achieving better quality and yield. Generally speaking, once a hot spot moves downward, it is difficult for it to return to its previous position, unless under very high salinity and temperature conditions.
Generally speaking, we should try to keep the hot spot in a front position during operation; once it moves backward, it is difficult to bring it back to its previous position by simply adjusting parameters or processes.
