Laser repair can be considered; it seems that what the original poster mentioned won’t work!
What is the speed? What is a medium? Temperature, pressure? It takes quite some courage to apply the original poster’s method to compressors! Looking forward to the results! However, according to the rules, your method is definitely illegal ；

How old is not old? What is the bending number? Your approach will only make it more bent the more you try to straighten it
