Each company has its own materials; if you use materials that are not suitable for that company, changing the manufacturer’s molds may not result in lower costs. The main reason for 2# gcslong’s hesitation is that this is the company’s first attempt at using the ammonia process; the choice of material for the circulation pump is determined primarily by considerations related to wear and corrosion resulting from a potential chloride concentration of up to 40,000, as well as the solid content in the slurry. There are differing opinions within the company; if dual-phase stainless steel is used, the price is unacceptably high. As for choosing an engineering plastic pump, I haven’t used one before, so I’m not sure about it.
I’ve heard that pumps made of engineering plastics work well, but they have a low dust content; I’m not too familiar with the details. Ask the manufacturer.
We are using steel-lined ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene pumps from Yixing Zeus Pump Industry, and they have performed quite well; over 9 years, apart from the seal issues, there have been no major problems.
It is recommended to use silicon carbide pumps, as they offer excellent wear and corrosion resistance
