According to the old regulatory requirements, Article 25 states that only the cylinder, head, manhole cover, manhole flange, manhole nozzle, expansion joint, opening reinforcement ring, equipment flange, etc. fall under this category; additionally, nozzle flanges with a diameter greater than 250 do as well. My current manhole has a diameter of 159 – does it fall under this category? What about the handhole flange cover?

1.6.1 The main pressure-bearing components within the pressure vessel body include the shell, end caps, expansion joints, equipment flanges, the spherical shell plates of spherical tanks, the tube sheets and heat exchange tubes of heat exchangers, the main studs of equipment with a diameter of M36 or higher, as well as pipe connections and pipe flanges with a nominal diameter of 250 mm or greater. Based on this, it is classified as a general compression member
It belongs to general compression elements. I would like to ask: are there any differences in the design and manufacturing processes between primary compression elements and ordinary compression elements?
If it has a diameter of only 159, it should not be considered a primary compression member, and should be treated as a regular flange.
