I want to design an ESD system for the terminal and warehouse area. Does the ESD system have to exist independently from the DCS, or can it also be implemented using DCS configuration. If you have relevant design experience, please share and give me some advice on how to do this design?

Generally speaking, ESD is separated from DCS, and a separate system is used. Some special signals must be introduced into ESD separately. For example, in some dual pressure places, one side of the pressure signal enters the DCS, and the other side of the pressure signal enters the ESD.
ESD is an emergency stop system. Its requirement is very high reliability. Its dual and triple redundancy are unique. It is the protector of equipment and equipment. It will definitely stop when it is time to stop. To put it simply, the ESD system can accept various ways of jumping. Personally, I think that the ESD system needs to draw a clear line between the DCS and the ESD system. The signals can be divided into two channels and transmitted to DCS and ESD respectively. Some signals transmitted to ESD can also be transmitted to DCS, but the ESD system exists independently. If ESD is to trip the vehicle, it will not be affected by DCS at all. This is the most basic thing to do.
