How far apart should water seal grooves be installed? What is the reason?

I recently searched the forum for information regarding water seal grooves; some people said that such grooves are generally installed every 50 meters. What is the purpose of this arrangement? Why are multiple water seal grooves needed? Note: It is used in formaldehyde production.
Are you referring to the gas water seal? Purpose of the water seal: to drain water accumulated in the pipeline and provide overpressure protection for it. Installation location: pipeline low points, corners, etc
What was said upstairs is absolutely correct: the accumulation of liquid in the gas pipeline network needs to be drained regularly. If the gas water seal is placed too far away, excessive liquid accumulation will occur; according to Bernoulli’s equation, this leads to an increase in flow velocity and fluctuations in pipeline pressure. Additionally, accumulations of naphthalene in coke oven gas can also easily clog pipes!
We produce formaldehyde, but I think what was said upstairs makes sense – there is a concern that accumulated liquid could cause pressure fluctuations.
Gas pipelines are laid at an inclination of generally 0.7 per thousand; water seals need to be installed at points where there are bends or changes in elevation of the pipeline. Under normal circumstances, one or two pressure buffers are sufficient to discharge any accumulated liquid and meet the requirements.
