There are two types of connections for reactors: parallel reactors and series reactors. Parallel reactors are used more frequently in practice due to their smaller size. There are usually two wiring methods: one is to pass the current through the reactor before reaching the input end of the capacitor, with the output end of the capacitor connected in a Y shape; the other method is to first pass the current through the capacitor and then through the reactor
Is what the poster is asking is whether the series reactor placed in front of the parallel capacitors in a reactive power compensation device can be moved to behind the capacitors? The main function of a series reactor is to limit the inrush current when capacitors are switched on and to suppress harmonics.
