There are no gas storage tanks, nor are any electrostatic precipitators in use. At present, manual sampling is carried out hourly to analyze the gas composition; however, some people suggest installing an online oxygen content detector. What are the specific requirements for such an online oxygen monitoring system? Is it necessary to install it? What is better to use?

The laser gas analyzer from Focus Technology should be fine; its advantage is that sample preprocessing is simple, or even not required at all. A magnetic oxygen analyzer can also be used, but the sample requires proper preprocessing, and maintenance costs may be high. Choosing an online analyzer is the only sensible option; it’s necessary to conduct thorough research and not rely on what the instrument manufacturers say, especially those salespeople who have no understanding of the technology or its applications.
