It’s possible. 2 T/h is the mass flow rate. For a pipe with a diameter of DN50, when the flow velocity is 0.4 m/s, the volume flow rate is 0.785 × 0.05 × 0.05 × 0.4 × 3600 = 2.826 m3/h. Therefore, the density of the fluid is 2 T / 2.826 m3 = 2000 / 2.826 = 707.7 kg/m3.
So, if the flow rate in such a pipe is relatively low, does that not meet the requirements?~
It depends on your process requirements; a low flow rate is not a problem in itself. This then relates to economic considerations, such as energy savings and investment costs!
What you’re describing is possible and feasible; indeed, with such low traffic volume, there’s no need to use a 50-capacity pipeline. If one insists on using it, it would merely represent an excessive investment. What money can solve is not a problem
Based on the density calculated on the second floor just now, my personal estimate is that it is a light oil-based medium; there may be design considerations aimed at preventing excessively high flow rates. The person in charge can determine whether there should be restrictions on the flow rate of this medium, depending on the properties of the material being handled.
OP, what medium is being transported? In the case of oil pipelines, the speed of the fluid flowing within them is specified in the \"Code for Design of Oil and Gas Gathering and Transportation\" GB50350-2005. Generally, 0.8~1.2 m/s. For heavy oil, 0.3~1.2 m/s. Based on the calculations on the 2nd floor, the flow rate is 0.4 m/s and the density is 707.7 kg/m3; it’s not heavy oil, so the flow rate value provided by the poster is incorrect! ! !

Poster: That won’t work. Even if the pipe material is free, you still need to take into account issues such as insulation and the space occupied by the pipes. If the pipes aren’t too long, it’s recommended to use DN20 pipes instead!
Was consideration given in the design to allowing for an increase in flow rate in the future?
