Question 1: Given the open-loop transfer function of a system with unit feedback, G(s) = (2s+1)/s2, determine the unit step response and unit impulse response of this system. Question 2: Given that the transfer function of the system is M(s) = 10/(0.5s + 1), determine the amplitude and phase of the steady-state output of the system under the action of a sinusoidal input signal with frequency f = 1 Hz and amplitude Ac = 10. (∏=3.14; tan-1=72.3°)

These types of interview questions are too disconnected from actual production in the field; they seem to be designed to test college students, rather than engineers. They also don’t represent any practical experience – it’s as if they’re meant to assess recently graduated college students, since these are questions that appear in university courses.
