Gentlemen, there are generally two methods for installing pipes with polytetrafluoroethylene linings during construction: one is to straighten the pipes on site, apply the polytetrafluoroethylene lining there, and then install them; the other is to purchase ready-made pipes and assemble them later. Generally, the first option is easier to implement, but it may be more expensive, while the second option is more complicated. Generally, pre-made ones are purchased; as long as the single-line diagram is accurately designed, that’s sufficient.
I have just completed a project that involved lining it with PTFE. When installing the pipes, start by using standard sections, such as those that are 2000 mm or 3000 mm long. If the length allowed for pipe installation permits it, it’s best to use standard sections. At the points where pipe joints are required, carbon steel pipe sections are cut on-site; these are known as free sections. The flanges are also welded on-site. After that, the free sections are removed and taken back to be lined, and once lining is complete, they can be reinstalled.
But if one can only buy pre-made items without on-site adjustment, the dimensions of those items may not be accurate.
Generally, the ISO diagram is used as a reference. If the relationship with the manufacturer is good, some lengths of the pipe sections can be left unspecified in the diagram; these lengths can then be determined during on-site assembly. Manufacturing in the factory is always faster, and although it’s possible to carry out the work on-site, the quality and speed cannot compare to those achieved in a factory. I have handled many projects using this approach, and it helps to avoid having excess material left over.
