I want to change careers and work as an engineering document clerk alongside my brother. I think it’s not suitable for a girl to work in the chemical industry – there are many challenges related to working on the front line and working shifts, and it can also have an impact on one’s health. What’s more important is that I’m currently working alone outside; my father and brother are both in Xi’an. Living alone feels very confusing (the company I work for isn’t in good condition either). I want to be with my family, as that would give me a sense of security. Besides, I don’t want to stay outside forever; after two or three years, I should return home. I spent a few years studying chemical engineering on my own, and now it seems like all that effort has been wasted; it’s really a shame... I can’t make up my mind! Please give some advice!
It can be seen from your words that although you have studied chemical engineering for many years, you don’t really like working in this field; it’s important to find a job that you enjoy more. The knowledge you’ve acquired in chemical engineering is already part of your asset, and even if you give up working in this area for now, you will still benefit from it. This is just my own suggestion; you need to make the decision yourself
All jobs are actually similar to each other; if you want to change careers, it’s best to make a decision early on, as time cannot be wasted. Just find a job that suits you.
OP, find a small design firm near your home. That way, you won’t lose your expertise, you can stay close to your parents, and the work is relatively easy.
Change it if you want to; it should be glorious when changed! Changing it would give an advantage over the current option... depending on individual circumstances
